”Now for the million dollar question.”
“What’s that?”
“Did you break the foot while riding the unicycle?”
“No, I didn’t.”
“OH MAN, I thought I was going to have a great caption.”
“Well, there is good news.”
“What’s that?”
“I broke it playing Quidditch.”
One of Us - Neil Gaiman
He writes fanfic. Cthulhu Mythos mostly, he wrote a crossover fic featuring Jeeves and Wooster as well.
- A Study in Emerald (Sherlock Holmes/Cthulhu Mythos crossover). He also wrote a Dark Fic about Narnia that shipped Jadis/Aslan.
- Speaking of Sherlock Holmes, Gaiman is apparently also a fan of Sherlock, if this Twitter post is anything to go by.
- According to a recent blog post, he is apparently a fan of xkcd.
- He has mentioned being a fan of Gunnerkrigg Court.
- He’s also a Doctor Who fan, as is pretty obvious in his episode “The Doctor’s Wife”.
- He also wrote the only episode of Babylon 5 in Seasons 3, 4, or 5 on which J. Michael Straczynski received no writing credit (“Day of the Dead”).

Things you find most on Tumblr summed up in one gif.
this is amazing
omfg
#food and a cat and an attractive man - all done in a sepia with a vaguely hipsterish fade at the edges #this gif is tumblr. we’re basically done here. #all we need is a ship now. let’s ship the bin with the car. ok done. bin/car otp.
I had to keep these tags, they slay me
Now someone needs to be offended and we have to have a ship war.
Oh my god, what the fuck? You can’t ship the bin and the car! They aren’t even the same objects! That’s disgusting and unnatural. What the fuck is wrong with you guys?
How can you say something like that??!?!? IT DOESN’T MATTER WHAT KIND OF OBJECTS THEY ARE. LOVE IS LOVE. They are clearly happy together; why don’t you just leave them alone? You clearly have no heart.
UGH YOU PEOPLE DISGUST ME.
That man is such a dick. I SHIP THE CAT WITH THE BIN. IT JUST WANTS TO BE HAPPY. WHAT A COCKBLOCK.

Let me talk to you about books.
Specifically, one book. This book.
This book should be a best seller. This book should be required reading for graduating from high school. Before you get that diploma, you read this book.
This book deals with debunking “Neurosexism,” which is a very fancy term for all of that evolutionary psychology bullshit that people spill about those “brain differences” between boys and girls.
This book debunks such myths as:
- Boys are better at math than girls
- Women make crappy lawyers/business CEOs/etc, as their brains are not cut out for aggression.
- Men make crappy counselors/primary school teachers/primary parents/etc, as their brains are not cut out for empathy.
- MEN ARE BUILT FOR GOING OUT AND HUNTING WHILE WOMEN ARE BUILT FOR STAYING HOME AND BABYMAKING IT’S NOT SEXISM IT’S JUST BIOLOGY
- And many other such myths.
Furthermore, this book covers topics such as:
- Neurosexism and gender perceptions in multiple races (as this is not a singularly white experience, just as the western world isn’t a singularly white experience)
- Sex discrimination in the workplace, and how women are (or, more often, are not) allowed to behave
- How science is used (badly) to support many of these claims
- Experiences of trans* people, both through interviews and empirical studies.
AND FINALLY - It is all brilliantly researched, cited, compiled - and it’s easy to read! Cordelia Fine actually manages to be funny while writing this, which I think is important, because it makes all of this information infinitely accessible.
Delusions of Gender has reinforced what Oberlin taught me: The gender binary is stupid and arbitrary, and dangerous. And it is a self-perpetuating bias that needs to be addressed to be overcome.
